Italy Mid 18th Century Rooster Shaped Majolica Soup Bowl

About the Item

Elegant and particular tureen in white majolica with polychromes produced around 1760 - 1770 by the ancient Pasquale Antonibon Manufacture based in Nove di Bassano, in the Veneto region, Italy. In 1752 Pasquale Antonibon, descendant of a family of majolica producers, began to experiment with the production of porcelain and therefore in 1762 his efforts were crowned with success and the Antonibon factory obtained a privilege from the Republic of Venice for the porcelain factory in Nove di Bassano. Around 1770 the management passed into the hands of Pasquale's son, named Gian Battista Antonibon who lost ownership in 1794. The piece is in a good state of conservation and has some archaeological restorations. The piece will be delivered with its Certificate of Authenticity and in case of interest it can be shown on request.
