About the Item

Glazed ceramic bowl by Lee McCarty, of Marigold Mississippi. It retains an original business card that was taped to the bottom decades ago. It appears to be signed under the card, a rare ephemera artifact in itself. Beautiful glaze decoration on a subtle squared off bowl form. Lee McCarty (1923-2015) grew up in Merigold, Mississippi. After serving in WWII and graduating from university, he and his wife Pup returned to Merigold in 1954 where they co-founded McCartys Pottery in 1954.
