Mid-Century Modern Murano Art Glass Bowl

About the Item

Constructed of multicolored glass cording, this coiled bowl was most likely made by an Italian artisan during the mid-1960s. The bowl is unsigned, so an exact artist or maker cannot be determined. The bowl is not perfectly circular in shape and was constructed with a series of glass ropes using green at the base and building up the sides with a combination of orange red to blue and finally, to a deep red at the rim with a clear banded edge. The clear rim is done with controlled bubbles which refract the various colors of the bowl and is a technique consistent with Murano art glass of this period.
