About the Item

Rare and very large raised bowl by Nils Thorsson for the ceramic manufacturer Aluminia Denmark, later brandname Royal Copenhagen. It's from the "Baca" series and made ca. 1960s. The bowl would be perfect as a fruit bowl and is great for display. It features a tactile abstract decoration in warm yellow on matte black and has a tactile surface. This piece is a factory first edition and a beautiful example. Nils Thorsson designed several pieces for the "Baca" series. This one is a more rare to find piece. Factory first edition! Very good vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs. The bowl is fully marked on bottom with the Aluminia backstamp along the 3 waves, the decor and model numbers, the cipher of Nils Thorsson in the "Baca" circle and the painter´s signature. Measures: Diameter: 34,7 cm (13.66") Height: 9,6 cm (3.78")
