About the Item

Pair of Raku Ceramic Bowls or Dishes – French Artisan Handcraft, 1970s Set of 2 handcrafted ceramic bowls, signed “C R” underneath. They showcase the artistry of raku firing, an ancient Japanese technique known for its unpredictable crackles and smoky tones. Each piece reveals a unique dialogue between form, glaze, and fire. The taller bowl features two contrasting hand-drawn designs: one side evokes delicate plant forms, while the other displays a more abstract, graphic composition of vertical lines. The smaller bowl captivates with its warm, earthy palette, enhanced by fluid, layered glazes in shades of rust, cream, and charcoal. Both bowls display a refined glaze work that subtly shifts in tone and texture. Handmade in France, in the 1970s. Perfect as trinkets / vide-poche or to use for tea and coffee, as kitchenware accessories. Dimensions of the taller (Black and White) : 11cm Height 10cm Diameter Dimensions of the smaller (Earthy Tones) : 6cm Height 9cm Diameter
