Palshus Low Round Bowl Dish with Dark Blue Glaze, Danish Modern Ceramic 1960s
About the Item
Low ceramic bowl by the acknowledged Danish ceramic workshop Palshus. It is designed by Per Linnemann-Schmidt and made in the 1960s or early 1970s.
The bowl is made from chamotte clay and has an interesting midnight blue glaze with brown elements and small speckles.
It is fully marked on bottom. PL-S for Per Linnemann-Schmidt
The bowl is a factory first edition and in a very good vintage condition.

The bowl is made from stoneware and has thick walls. It is covered with a gray and pale blue glaze with pale yellow elements and small dark brown speckles. The surface is structured, especially inside the bowl. A very tactile piece.

It comes in olive green tones with an impressive blue flame in the center. The blue effect is replicated onto the upper edge. On the outside shows an impressed geometrical pattern. It comes with a thick glaze.
Scandinavian Mid-Century bowl, produced by Palshus (Denmark) in the 1960s, founded by Per and his wife Annelise Linnemann-Schmidt.
The couple created and produced chamotte (danish clay) objects, often with impressed decorations (tableware, vases, and lamps). Colors were characteristic Scandinavian earthy tones: blues, browns, greens and beige.
Many other talented ceramic artists also worked for Palshus including Jens H. Quistgaard and Esben Klint.
