Exquisite "Corso" Ceramic Dish by Ingrid Atterberg for Upsala Ekeby. This beautifully crafted rectangular ceramic dish from the "Corso" series was designed by renowned ceramist Ingrid Atterberg for Upsala Ekeby. It features a white glossy glaze adorned with geometric relief patterns and interspersed colored squares, set against a matte brown background. Deeply stamped on the underside with “UE,” “Sweden,” “Abg,” and model number 2147, this piece was produced between 1954 and 1963. Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) created numerous classic items for Upsala Ekeby from the 1940s to the 1960s, with the "Corso" series being one of her most famous, comprising 11 earthenware objects, including bowls, dishes, and vases. Each piece reflects Atterberg's distinctive style and craftsmanship. About Ingrid Atterberg Born on May 11, 1920, in Härnösand, Sweden, Ingrid Atterberg was a celebrated ceramist closely associated with Upsala Ekeby. In 1969, she established her own ceramics workshop in Uppsala, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of innovative mid-century modern designs. About Upsala Ekeby Founded in 1886, Upsala Ekeby initially focused on brick manufacturing but later expanded to include wall tiles, tile stoves, and household ceramics. The incorporation of the Gefle porcelain factory in 1935 further solidified its position in the ceramics industry. Production ceased in 1977, marking the end of an era for this iconic Swedish manufacturer.

    Wear consistent with age and use. There is some unevenness in the brown color areas of the piece. Additionally, there is a chip on the long side of the unglazed section, as shown in the photo and video. Although the chip is not very obvious, this is the reason for the reduced price.

Exquisitely crafted by renowned ceramist Ingrid Atterberg for Uppsala Ekeby, this black, white and grey chamotte vase with a distinctive handle and rough surface epitomizes mid-century Scandinavian modern design. Ingrid Atterberg (1920–2008) designed many classic pieces for Upsala-Ekeby between the 1940s and 1960s. One of her most well-known series is "Progresso," created in 1958. This collection consists of eight earthenware items, including vases and bowls, characterized by their textured surfaces and rustic appearance. Each piece is deeply stamped on the underside with "UE," "Sweden," "Abg," and the model number. The "Progresso" series was produced until 1959. The vase has the shape of a classical urn and a swelling shape with a unique hand-decorated finish, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. Standing at a height of 16 cm, this vase model, numbered 2358, to Upsala-Ekeby's era-typical craftsmanship and aesthetic sensibility. Marked with a deep stamp indicating UE Sweden, 2358, and Abg.
