Scandinavian modern french blue, hand-painted plate with floral motif designed by Eva Jancke-Björk for Bo Fajans, Sweden.
This exquisite plate, numbered 3733, is designed by Eva Jancke-Björk and showcases a beautifully crafted design typical for the 1950s. It features four branches painted in black, each adorned with a white snowberry (Latin name: Symphoricarpos albus). In the center of the plate, two bare branches are depicted—one with four white snowberries and the other with five. A black-painted band encircles the edges of the plate, which has square borders that elegantly tuck in at the corners. The white snowberries slightly protrude from the surface, allowing them to be felt by touch.
This piece is Identified by the Bo Fajans number 3733, featuring deep stamps that read "BO FAJANS SWEDEN 3733" and a painted "B".The plate is noted for its handmade and hand-decorated qualities in french blue, black, and white.
Designed by Eva Jancke-Björk in approximately 1954-1956, this plate beautifully combines cuteness with timeless appeal.
ABOUT BO FAJANS AND EVA JANCKE-BJÖRK
Bo Fajansfabrik was established in 1874 in Barkbacken, Gävle, by Erik Boberg. Following the 1st world war, the factory was expanded, and in the early 1920s, the company was transformed into a limited liability company, with the Boberg family as owners. The name was subsequently shortened to Bo Fajans. Production continued until June 30, 1967, when the factory was closed.
Eva Jancke-Björk worked at Bo Fajans from 1925 to 1956, contributing significantly to the brand's legacy and artistic output.
