About the Item

A vibrant pink and blue Murano glass geode bowl, attributed to Flavio Poli for Seguso Vetri d’Arte, circa 1970s Italy. Handcrafted using the renowned sommerso glass technique, this mid-century piece reveals Poli’s deft command of form and colour. A layer of vivid pink glass floats atop a band of cool blue, both suspended within a thick casing of clear Murano crystal—a hallmark of Italian art glass from this period. The bowl is oval in form, with four evenly lobed sides that have been carefully pulled outward to create a sense of movement and dimensionality. Measuring 18 cm wide, 10 cm deep and 6 cm high, it stands out as a larger-than-average Murano bowl/vide-poche, ideal for coffee tables or console displays. Condition is very good with only minor wear to the polished base and a few miniscule edge nips to the rim—commensurate with age and use.
