A 19th century French Provençal fariniere, or decorative box made of walnut with fine hand-carved decoration of a large flower urn. Waxed patina. This beautifully crafted household item was commonly given as a wedding gift and would be displayed on the wall and used in the kitchen to store flour. Circa 1820-1840.
