Antique French Folk Art Box with Traces of Painted Flowers

About the Item

A very early box, of a good size, and very charming and attractive. Probably French based on many we have reviewed, but might be German. Age is 1800 but might be earlier, possibly 1750. Signed inside, but the numbers are hard to read, and dates on items such as these are sometimes indicating when a piece is gifted rather than when it is made. Overall, this box is a very lovely example for an important bookshelf display.
