Charles X Gilt Bronze-Mounted Glass Barrel on a Stand, circa 1830
About the Item
This extremely rare Spirit barrel with stylised stoppers and taps,
the base with pierced supports cast with addorsed swans flanking a neo-classical vase joined by a turned and double-baluster stretcher
22cm. high, 14.5cm. wide, 20cm. deep; 8½in., 5¾in., 7¾in.
The detachable, barrel-shaped dispenser is hob nail cut with
geometric patterns and has two ormolu bronze fitting in the centre.
