Koret Mid-Century Modern Black Patent Leather and Brass Handbag or Shoulder Bag

About the Item

Stylish black patent leather adjustable handbag made by high end manufacturer, Koret. This bag has a fold over flap with an unusual brass U-shaped twist clasp closure. The interior is lined with leather and has a pocket with a chain purse tethered by a slender chain. This versatile bag has a strap that can be adjusted so that it can also be used as a shoulder bag. Marked with Koret logo on the inside. Koret was a leading designer and manufacturer of bags in the 40's and 50's, and examples are included in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
