Beautiful Nicole Frères Music Box, Geneva, circa 1860
This outstanding music box was crafted around 1860 by Nicole Frères, the most renowned and sought-after maker of fine music boxes.
The sophisticated mechanism plays six melodies on two combs, in a wonderful "Forte-Piano" setting. The cylinder measures 33 cm in length.
The box operates with a key-wind system. The lid features fine inlay work, and the entire case is beautifully finished with a simulated wood grain decoration.
The mechanism is operated via a lever located on the left side.
A truly elegant and valuable piece — a perfect addition to any serious collection!
