About the Item
We have for sale a Sun Hat box by master woodturner Ray Key (1942-2018). Ray Key was one of the most praised woodturners of any generation. His works are in museum collections world wide. He was awarded a British Empire Medal in 2015 in the Late Queens Birthday Honours List for his services to wood turning. Something he had excelled in for fifty years.
Images are not able to capture the beauty of this piece. The grain from the lid to the base follow through. The lid makes a pop as you open it as the captured air releases. These are really exceptional pieces, in craftsmanship, in proportion and selections of wood.
We have a large collection of pieces from peers Ray Key (1942-2018) & Bert Marsh (1932-2011). The pieces all came from one collection built up over twenty five years. As with all vintage pieces there will be minor marks. If there are any noticeable marks, it will be described or a close up image will be sent to you.
