About the Item

An absolutely charming Victorian novelty jewellery box made from very heavy cast brass and I think that the dog himself is Bronze, with traces of the original gilding. The sweet little pooch sits on a tasselled cushion with a blanket by his side. The dog is beautifully executed and retains two little glass eyes. The lid lifts to reveal the original tufted blue silk lining and the original fabric lining the inside of the lid. Victorian in era, it remains in excellent condition measuring 5" x 4 1/4" x 5" tall. Item ID: 40711.
