About the Item
An Italian Mid Century Modern Murano jewelry square casket trinket box by, A. Mandruzzato circa 1960s'. The box is cased in heavy clear glass with black/Purple and silver flake sommerso decoration fitted with brass fittings. The box is unsigned - circa 1960s. The box is unsigned.
Measurements:
height: 3.25 in. x width: 5.25 in. x depth: 3.5 in.
Condition:
There are no chips, nicks or cracks to the glass. Hinge is strong and solid and brass rims have some minor plate wear loss. but not much. Some light scratches as expected from use and normal wear for an item this old.
Bio:
Mandruzzato was founded in 1934 on the island of Murano, Venice, Italy, by Benjamin Mandruzzato. After Benjamin died in 1954, the factory was run by his son Luigi Mandruzzato. In 1965 Luigi was joined by his son, Gianfranco Mandruzzato, who took over the running of the company two years later and then followed by, Gianfranco's son, Alessandro Mandruzzato who is currently operating the studio today.
