Japanese Contemporary Ko-Imari Gold Blue Porcelain Koro Incense Burner

About the Item

Stunning contemporary Japanese Ko-Imari style porcelain koro or incense burner or jewelry box, hand painted on a beautifully shaped round body in cobalt blue, red and green and generous application of gold on a pure white porcelain, characteristic of Ko-Imari style. It is produced in a well respected kiln in the Imari-Kutani region of Japan and has a history of over a century of producing fine porcelain pieces honoring the traditional techniques and patterns. A beautiful lotus flower in pure white porcelain inside can safely hold an incense stick in place. This piece is beautiful as a decorative piece as it is when used as an incense burner. The attractive cartouches on this striking porcelain koro, with flower patterns contrast the chrysanthemums on a vertigo background, to create a stunning piece. Chrysanthemums are said to be the emblems of emperors. They come in different shapes, colors and fragrances. Dimensions: H 3 in, D 3 in.

Japanese Contemporary Red Yellow Blue Porcelain Box by Master Artist

Mesmerizing Japanese contemporary decorative signed porcelain box, extremely intricately hand-painted in vivid red, blue and yellow with generous gold details, on a stunningly shaped porcelain body. Kinrande style hand-painting represents Arita porcelain, which appeared in the Edo period (1688-1704) and has been handed down to the present day. The colors are deep, and red and gold are used luxuriously, and flower patterns are drawn on the surface of the vessel. This style is thought to reflect the spirit of the Genroku era, which was economically abundant. It is highly decorative and many kinrande works, such as large lidded vases...
