Late 19th Century French Rosewood Jewelry Box with Great Ormolu Feet and Trim
About the Item
French 1880s Kings wood jewelry box also known as rosewood with beautiful bronze ormolu trim and feet. Kingwood considered a true rosewood and probably the strongest of all the rosewoods. The history of kingwood supposedly got its name from several French kings Louis XIV and Louis XV that preferred the wood in the use of fine furniture. Overall the jewelry box is in good shape you may want to replace the silk interior, I do have a key not sure if its the original key but it does work. This is from a private collector who traveled the world buying beautiful pieces.
