About the Item

A rare and iconic work by Daniel Grobet, a Swiss sculptor renowned for his poetic mobiles in precarious equilibrium. This sculpture, titled “Firecatcher,” perfectly embodies the artist’s quest for lightness and tension. This piece is unique. 130/120cm. Some reflections on the work of Daniel Grobet A fascination with balance, the exploration of its limits, and the search for new possible forms became Daniel Grobet's vocation after encountering a work by Alexander Calder at the Maag Foundation in Saint-Paul-de-Vence in 1974. Balance and movement have remained at the heart of his artistic career for over 40 years; all of his works are mobile. Self-taught, he learned to work with iron and explored increasingly complex forms of expression.
