About the Item
A sensational and large scale pair of Baltic 19th century Neo-Classical st. Glass, Ormolu and Marble candelabras. This exquisite pair of cobalt blue glass candelabras is raised by a double leveled circular white Carrara marble base with bottom Ormolu supports and twisted ribbon bands. Above is the Ormolu mottled socle with a richly chased foliate ring. The baluster shaped cobalt blue Glass central fut leads to four scrolled arms with candle cups at the end, while flanking four additional scrolled arms leading to cut Crystal daggers above Crystal sprays. Each arm is richly decorated with cut Glass water drop garlands below rosettes. The four arms with Crystal daggers are joined by draping scrolls with additional hanging Glass water drops and top rosettes. Above are two additional cobalt blue Glass spheres below a row of draping scrolls. The top crown displays a fanciful spray of cut Glass water drops surrounding the central Crystal dagger.
