This striking and sculptural mid-century candle chandelier, hand-forged in France around the 1950s. This rare piece blends the clean lines of modernist design with the expressive rawness of Brutalist craftsmanship.
Each arm is forged from solid iron, ending in subtly curved candle plates with original iron pins to securely hold taper candles. The form is minimal yet deeply tactile, showcasing hammer marks, slight asymmetries, and an aged surface that beautifully narrates its history.
The original chain — forged — adds both visual weight and architectural presence. When candles are lit, the warm flicker transforms the piece into a soft beacon of texture and light. Functional, atmospheric, and deeply artistic, this chandelier is more than lighting — it is sculpture.
