Chinese Porcelain Underglaze Blue Rococo Candlestick, Circa 1750 The underglaze blue candlestick has a square shaped domed base with canted corners and a recessed bowl at the base of the stem with a spearhead band surround. The central column with a globular center and eight panels. The whole painted with leaves and stems. On the base there is a band of spearhead design. Dimensions: 11 1/4 inches x 4 3/4 inches (Ref: VM98603-36H)

Vintage Porcelain Large Tulip Vase Pyramids, Chinese, Circa 2000 A pair of Tulipiere vases with each tulipiere made in four interconnecting pieces and painted in underglaze blue and white. The pattern is known as the Blue Onion Pattern. Each vase has twenty four openings for tulips or flowers opening to a hollow cavity for water. Dimensions: 31 1/4 inches tall x 8 3/4 inches square base. A "tulipiere" is a type of ornate vase, also known as a tulip vase or pyramid vase, designed to hold multiple stems of flowers, particularly tulips, in individual spouts. They are often made of Delftware and feature a shared water reservoir at the base. They are traditionally used for displaying cut flowers. This diminutively scaled vase is decorated fully in the round in cobalt under glaze blue with blooming peony bough and a magpie fluttering on a branch. This vignette bears auspicious symbols for beauty, wealth and joy. The peony is the queen of all flowers in China and it symbolizes wealth and beauty. The magpie is a harbinger of happiness, thus its name "bird of happiness." There is a tiny ding on the flared mouth rim and also on the foot ring.
