About the Item
An elegant Pair of English Hand Chased Silver Plated with Glass Hurricanes by Folgate. The gorgeous glass hurricanes feature a scalloped edge design with an etched dimpled impression at the top of the hurricane. The silverplated base is silver over and copper in the tradition of old Sheffield plate. This pair would make beautiful statement on a dining table or sideboard. Folgate was established by Alfred Walter Nayler in 1908. Joined by his brother William Edwin Nayler in 1909 acting as Nayler Brothers. Later active as Nayler Brothers (Silversmiths) Ltd with C.T. Smith and his wife, daugther of W.E. Nayler, as directors. The firm used the trademark FOLGATE
