About the Item

Made of "Bell Metal" with gadrooned stems over shaped molded bases retaining the original bobeches (drip trays). Ile de France circa 1750. Bell Metal is made from copper and tin, a type of bronze alloy traditionally used to cast bells. Candlesticks made from bell metal are extremely rare and are known for their fine craftsmanship and are often highly desired in antique collections.
