19th Century French Comtoise Grandfather Clock

A beautiful 19th century country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Original seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order, with a gong chiming on the hour, two minutes after the hour and once on the half. The enamel face is signed by the clockmaker, Ferret at La Châtaigneraie (in Western France). Pendulum and clock surround have matching embossed, hand painted decoration with bouquets of pink and white flowers on a bright gold ground. Note: the clock is original to the case and both are signed by the clockmaker. The glass of the pendulum door has been replaced. Please refer to photos for more details.
