French Clock, circa 1950, Rosewood and Kingwood with Bronze Dore Castings

About the Item

A rare and superb longcase clock from Paris after a model made by Riesner. Heavily decorated with elaborate bronze cherub and putti mounts. Kingwood and rosewood case with marquetry inlay. the model made by Riesner is in the Louvre. A photo of the Riesner clock is illustrated in the book "Les Bronzes adores Francais du XVIII Siecle by Pierre Verlet Page 116.
