Mid-Century Danish Grandfather Clock
About the Item
The first grandfather clock we have ever offered and it’s perfectly mid-century. Designed and made circa 1960s, Denmark. The frame is made from teak wood and featuring a tambour door at the bottom that opens to a spacious storage compartment. Brass accent circular handles are used to open the tambour door. The glass front is curved and easily opens. The clock face is teak with brass accents that pop against the teak wood. Pendulum and weights are both present. Item comes with weights and needs to be properly set. There are chains with weights that need to be set on gears behind face. In overall good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. A perfect addition for those who are looking for a grandfather clock, a statement piece and the mid-century aesthetic.

This magnificent English longcase, or grandfather, clock boasts a fine rosewood case inlaid with an intricate, balanced design. The face is crafted of chased silver in a foliate motif with fully hallmarked numerals by London silversmith James Stedstone Gouldsmith. The clock is a three-train movement run by three silver-plated weights and a mercury pendulum.
