French Empire Bronze Ormolu-Mounted Figural Clock, Early 19th c

About

This handsome bronze mantel clock is from the French Empire period with a standing figure placing his feathered hat on top of the clock. The clock’s enameled face is surrounded by an ormolu twisted rope frame. The base is mounted with a tournament helmet flanked by a pair of farrier axes, laurel branches and flags, all symbols of France. It stands on ormolu feet. In running order. N.P. Trent has been a respected name in antiques for over 30 years with a large collection of period furniture, art and decorative accessories.
