Antique 19th Century Viennese Austrian Enamel & Silver Rock Crystal Desk Clock by Hermann Böhm. Vienna, c.1880, the egg-shaped case surmounted by the figure of a putto, opening to reveal a brightly enamelled circular dial and bright enamel borders, the rock crystal engraved with stars, supported on a stem modelled as three dolphins, the circular base with four mask-form feet and inset with a rock crystal panel. Austrian Viennese silver refers to silverware and silver objects that were crafted in Vienna, Austria. Vienna has a rich history of silver craftsmanship, particularly during the 18th and 19th centuries, when the city was a hub for high-quality silver production. Hermann Böhm was a prominent Austrian silversmith and enameller, known for his work during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. His works were typically influenced by historical styles, including Renaissance and Baroque, and often incorporated mythological and classical themes.
