Bayard Clock Co., When Albert Villon established his clock making shop in 1867 in St Nicholas D'Aliermont in northern France, he specialized only in marine clocks and travel/carriage clocks. During the next decades, the company changed names - from Duverdrey & Bloquel to Bayard and made many models of clocks -including traditional carriage clocks with solid brass cases and bevelled glass fronts, sides and backs and several lamps models also had visible escapements. In 1978 Bayard was taken over by Jaeger-Levallois from Switzerland. In the 1980's (1982-83) they began reproducing some of the clocks that had originally been manufactured by the first Bayard company, including a line of 'mignonettes' - carriage clocks. Service: The movement and the electrical elements are in working condition, however this is mostly a collector's piece for display that should need revisions by a professional electrician. Note: All parts are the originals from the stated period, including the electrical cord and the socket. An electrical convertor from 210 v to 110 v need to be attached to be functional. Condition: The overall condition of this desk lamp-clock is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the movement, the glass or any parts. Very minimal non distracted green enamel looses at the reverse. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and authenticity.
