Very Large 19th Century Clock Garniture

About the Item

A wonderful garniture in marble and ormolu, the central clock face engraved in ormolu and surrounded by enameled numerals. The clock is adorned by two amorous ormolu figures of an angel and a nymph and the body is decorated with Roman designs in the Napoleonic style in ormolu on the marbled body. The pair of four-branched candlesticks that accompany the clock are in the shape of two torchères, each candle-holder covered by an inverted flame-shaped motif. The candlesticks rest on three lion shaped feet French, first quarter of the 19th century.
