Extremely Rare French Crucifix Wall Rotary Clock

Unusual striking clock with a magnificent gilded wood frame having a glass front enclosing and a bronze doré Christ on a wooden cross. The time is given by Roman numeral on a midnight blue lacquered globe sprinkled with gilded stars above a pair of angels surmounting the cross. The frame opens to reveal the 8 days movement which strikes the hours on a gong. The clock comes with its pendulum and key and was completely revised by a clock master. You can see in a book by Tardy “French clock the world over” page 338 a comparable Crucifix clock. Very good condition.
