In 1916, Presburg left for Rotterdam to work at the Firma Vos en Co. He had set up a smooth silver department there under the leadership of Aldert Schoorl. A year later, in 1917, the department moved to Haarlem. The Presburg family followed and also moved to Haarlem. When a merger took place between Vos and Van Kempen & Begeer in 1919, causing the Haarlem factory to move to Voorschoten, most did not want to move again. That is why Arnold Presburg, together with partner Hoogteyling, decided to establish the Haarlemsche Zilversmederij in 1919. Until 1951 when his son, Georg Presburg, became a partner. Georg Presburg had already gained experience by working with his father in the forge and learning the trade that way. On December 31, 1971, Arnold Presburg retired from the Haarlemsche Zilversmederij at the age of 78. Georg Presburg remained the owner until 1998 when he sold the business to Karel Schermerhorn, who is currently the owner of the Haarlemsche Zilversmederij.
