Everest Z5R Hand Crank Calculator, Italy
About the Item
Everest Z5R hand crank calculator. In greyish metal, the Everest Z5R is a 10-key pinwheel calculator from the 1950s. It has a 13-digit main register in the top left corner, an 8-digit counter in the top right corner and a 9-digit mobile input register on the front.
Most of the controls are on the right-hand side of the machine. There is a crank that adds the entry to the main register when turned clockwise and subtracts it when turned in the opposite direction. There are also cleaning levers in the top right-hand corner for the main register and the counter, and a lever in the bottom right-hand corner for cleaning the entry.
Manufactured by Societá Anonima Serio (founded in 1932 and incorporated in 1960 by Olivetti).
