About the Item

Mid-19th century English papier mache desk standish. Original inkwells (lacking covers), drawer with carved pull & stamp/nib container (cover associated). Decorated in Renaissance revival motifs, extensively inlaid. Gilding highlights the entire piece. Half inch flake on bottom side edge. 9.5" x 7" x 3.5".
