About the Item
The Óptima Elite 3 portable typewriter, grey in colour, was produced at the VEB Optima factory in Erfurt, GDR. It was the third iteration of the Elite model after the Erfurt typewriter factory was renamed Optima.
The Elite 3 was equipped with all the features that the Olympia Elite typewriter had when it was produced in Germany before the war. The typewriter has a key tab that allows you to create sheets, something like today's MS Excel - by pressing the TAB key, the carriage automatically moves to the tab position.
The Optima Elite 3 is a typewriter model with a distinctive aerodynamic shape of the outer casing which, together with the large amount of chrome parts, was something up to date with the design trends of the time.
