About the Item

A fine pair of antique silver figural card holders. By Sing Fat, a highly regarded Chinese silversmith active in both Shanghai & Canton ca. 1880 - 1940. Each holder in the form of an Chinese dragon. There is a recess along the spine of the back for a card to be placed into. Marked to the interior of the front right leg with SF for Sing Fat / 90 for .900 silver fineness / a Chinese artist's mark. Simply a wonderful pair of Chinese silver card holders! Date: Late 19th or Early 20th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with some light edge wear, some light dings and indentations here and there, some fine and light surface scratches, and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Maker: Sing Fat Marks: Marked to the interior of the front right leg with SF for Sing Fat / 90 for .900 silver fineness / a Chinese artist's mark. Fineness: Marked 90 for .900 silver fineness.
