19th Century Belgium Louis XV Rococo Repousse Brass Inkwell with Letter Holder

About the Item

Decorate a man's desk or study with this elegant antique inkwell; crafted in Belgium, circa 1880, the desk accessory stands on scroll feet over a scalloped apron, and features intricate repousse decor including a deep curve at the front for pen rest, and a letter holder decorated with cherub, floral and acanthus leaf motifs. Both containers with metal ink containers are topped with decorative hinged lids embellished with top finials. The inkwell is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a rich patinated gilt finish. Measures: 11.5"W x 7.5"D x 7.5"H.
