This exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V sterling silver inkstand has a rectangular form.
This impressive inkstand is fitted with a hallmarked exceptional pierced decorated gallery, embellished with impressive quatrefoil motifs spanning each of the four panels.
The body of the sterling silver inkstand is ornamented with an undulating border to the rim.
This antique 20th century silver inkstand is supported by four impressive, decorative cast and applied feet featuring scrolling and festoon ornamentation.
The galleried double inkstand features two exceptional pyramid-shaped inkwell vessels.
Each vessel retains its original blue glass liner, surrounded by a pierced decorated outer casing, featuring quatrefoil decoration to complement the exceptional gallery.
The fine and impressive inkwell vessels are also fitted with hinged hallmarked covers, which feature protruding semi circular thumb pieces.
Condition
This antique galleried double inkstand is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The impressive 20th century silver inkstand has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. The exceptional pierced decoration is sharp. The hallmarks deeply struck to the interior of the bottle covers and to the underside of the base are very clear.

This inkstand is fitted with a gallery, embellished with impressive pierced and applied scrolling foliate ornamentation.
The shaped, incurved rims of the body and anterior rim of the sterling silver inkstand are ornamented with a paralleling applied gadroon decorated border.
The surface of the fox silver inkstand incorporates a concave oval pen receiver.
The body of the inkstand incorporates two ink bottle receivers flanking a rectangular stamp box.
The impressive hallmarked ink bottles each have a tapering cylindrical form and are embellished with further pierced scrolling foliate ornamentation; these ink bottles secure to the stand with a screw fitment to the underside.
Each ink bottle is fitted with a plain domed hinged cover and opens to allow access to the original glass liner.
