About the Item

A magnificent Antique George II Sterling Silver Gilt Inkwell with a rounded rectangular shape and a bold anthemion handle. The Inkstand Tray has a reeded border on the rim and two sunken wells for pens. The Inkstand has 3 removable pots with fitted lids. The Inkstand has an ornate border surrounding the pots and each pot has a matching chased design around the body. Made in London, England in 1752 by William Cripps. Approx. Weight - 618g Approx. Length - 23.3cm Approx. Width incl Handle - 20.7cm Approx. Width excl Handle - 15.1cm Approx. Height - 6.2cm This George II Inkstand has Full English Hallmarks on the base and a Full English Hallmark on one of the pots. Part Marked on the Lids. This Georgian Inkstand is in excellent condition with no damage. There is very minor wear to the gilding on the rims. STOCK CODE - INK01 GEO01
