Cut Crystal Inkwell with Faceted Hinged Lid

Description:
Hexagonal desk inkwell made of solid, colorless lead crystal with deeply faceted sides and a star-cut base. The heavy body is structured in two tiers: a stepped base with bevelled edges and a slightly recessed upper section housing the ink container. The mushroom-shaped lid, also made of faceted crystal, is fitted with a brass mount and connected to the body via a small brass hinge.
Additional Information:
The geometric clarity and formal discipline of this inkwell reflect design principles typical of the Historicism around 1900. The precision cutting and solid construction suggest manufacture in a specialized crystal workshop.
Condition:
