Victorian Novelty Silver Mounted Owl Inkwell By Sampson Mordan & Co London 1896

Victorian novelty silver mounted owl head and cut glass inkwell by Sampson Mordan & Co. London - 1896. Hallmarked.
The hinged lid modelled as an owl with glass amber eyes, and a cut glass body having a star cut base. The interior lid has a mirror, this shows blemishes with age.
The lid open and closes well, this stays very slightly proud when closed. There are minor nicks to the edges of the cut glass, not noticeable to the naked eye. There is a slight bump to the back head of the owl as shown.
