Edwardian Period, sterling silver and Blue Guilloche Enamel Letter Opener
About the Item
Edwardian Period, sterling silver and light blue guilloche enamel letter opener/paper knife, Sheffield, England, year-hallmarked for 1905, Allen and Darwin - makers. Sterling silver blade is beautifully etched in design. Measures 9 1/2 inches long x 1/2 inch wide (at widest point) x 1/4 inches high (when lying flat). There is a dent on the reverse side of the handle (see photos) that is commensurate with age and use. Dark areas on sterling silver in photos are reflections. In good antique condition.
