Mappin & Webb Solid Silver Royal Wedding Letter Opener, Boxed – 1981
A finely crafted solid sterling silver letter opener by esteemed British silversmiths Mappin & Webb, created to commemorate the marriage of HRH Prince Charles to Lady Diana Spencer on 29th July 1981.
The handle is adorned with a cast medallion bearing conjoined profiles of the royal couple, with the surrounding inscription reading: “The Marriage of HRH The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer 29th July 1981.”
Fully hallmarked for Birmingham, 1981, with maker’s mark “MNWB” for Mappin & Webb Ltd.
Presented in its original fitted case with velvet and silk lining, bearing the royal warrant. A fine piece of royal memorabilia and an elegant desk accessory from one of Britain’s leading silversmiths.
