Sterling silver letter opener in Baroque style.
The solid handle of the letter opener was cast and then hand-chased, hammered, and engraved.
A knurling was added between the scrollwork to highlight the Baroque-style workmanship.
The blade is completely smooth to create contrast with the handle's workmanship.
Made in Milan, Italy, in the artisan workshop of silversmith Virginio Cesani for ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA

20th Century Italian Sterling Silver Inkstand, baroque revival

Faithful copy of the writing service by the silversmith Pietro Rubini, Milan c.1775
The inkstand is composed of a shaped tray supported by 4 rocailles feet, modeled along the entire profile by finely embossed and chiselled volutes, leaves and shells.
Above the tray are two ink holders and two pen holders with spiral workmanship and highly embossed vegetable decorations.
A bell in the center of the object rests on a FASTIGIO pierced with flowering vines.
