About the Item
This set of 6 rare antique 19th century Mexican codd neck glass soda bottles are an incredibly special and unique rare set to add to your collection. Made of heavyweight transparent light green and aqua blue glass. The bottle is pinched into a special shape to provide a chamber into which the marble is pushed to open the bottle.
The codd neck bottle is a type of bottle used for carbonated drinks. It has a unique design based on a glass marble which held against a ruber seal, that sits within the recess in the lip. The bottles were filled upside down and pressure of the gas in the bottle forced the marble against the washer sealing in the carbonation.
