This is an antique verger's table top desk. An English, oak ecclesiastical writing table, dating to the William III period, circa 1700. Fascinating example of William III ecclesiastical taste Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select oak shows fine grain interest and deep russet hues Presented with a quality wax polish finish Canted lid opens smoothly upon external hinges The lid decorated with press stud initials reading L.P. Trio of internal drawers sit above the generous document tray Dressed with an antique lock over iron backplate — key absent This is a charming antique verger's table top desk with superb historical appeal from the turn of the 18th century.
