About the Item

A very fine and early pair of Roman Neoclassical Period Grand Tour Sienna marble models of the Temple of Castor and Pollux and the temple of Vespasian, early 1800's Italian. In the 18th and 19th centuries no gentlemen's education was considered complete until he made a Grand Tour of the famous sights of the ancient European world.
