Eight French Decorative Glass Desk Paperweights
About the Item
These beautiful paperweights were created in France in the 20th century. Glass paperweights began to be widely collected in the mid-19th century, after they were showcased at the International Exhibitions of the period. Paperweights like these are beautiful objects to behold and are great displays of artistic skill.
This collection is comprised of eight paperweights, which are all slightly different in their shape, size and design. They range from one which is tall, oval and striped with yellow, to one which is multicolored and faceted, and one which is spherical, with a blue and white floral motif at its centre. Others contain decorative air bubbles, marbled patterns and stylised flower forms. The paperweights will make the perfect desk accessories.
